Cloud, who still felt like a part of him was missing, slowly made his way to the edge, away from his friends and locked his eyes on what they had just done.
Sephiroth deserved it.
All the killings, lies, and tricks he did, he deserved to be destroyed.
Cloud frowned at the memories of the ones he forced the lives from, mother, Tifa's father, President Shinra,....Aeris....
How could ever forget about the one he loved so dearly?
By remembering her,he sadly switched his gaze to the City of the Ancients where she...... it just hurt him too much to reflect the past.
Feeling deep sorrow that the event was his fault, he ran his hand through his spikey golden hair, rested his elbows on the edge of the boat-like plane and closed his eyes. He didn't want to have anymore regretful memories, he just couldn't stand it.
Just then, a light hand rested on his shoulder from behind him. He didn't have to look to know who it was, but said nothing. He really knew who it was when he saw the long dark brown strands flow beside him. It was Tifa, and he could tell by the way she was breathing, that something troubled her in what to say. " Don't bother talking, Tifa", he felt like saying, but kept his comments to himself.
Tifa must have sensed how Cloud felt because she hesitated before removing her hand. She knew Cloud wanted to be alone at the time, and she respected that, but, something inside her willed her to stay.
She glanced at him haunching over the rail with his face hidden. She knew how he felt. She knew that he thought Aeris's death was his fault, due to him vowing to be her bodygaurd and not being, and not being able to break free of Sephiroth's mind control in time to save her.
Sephiroth.
The images of what he caused flashed through her mind, but she quickly pushed it aside. She looked over the plane's railing at the world down below, but at paticularly nothing.
Then she felt an urge to look over at the City of the Ancients, did so, and gasped at what she saw. Still eyeing it, she gently pushed on Cloud to get him to see it, too and to also make sure her eyes weren't playing tricks on her.
Reluctantly, Cloud lifted his head and gazed at her, and to his surprise, noticed her eyes were full of concern and worry as she cocked her head to the right. That caused her hair to blow all over her face, but she quickly smoothed it down, and pointed towards the City of the Ancients. Cloud followed her gesture, and his blue eyes got wide and bright at the sight.
It was Aeris! Rather, it was an image, but it was still Aeris!
Under his own spell, Cloud eagerly out to her and whispered her name. Tifa brought her brows together in a twinge of jelousy, but quickly shook it away. STOP IT!, she thought, THIS IS TIME FOR CLOUD TO BE REALLY HAPPY. I KNOW HE WON'T BE HAPPY WITH ME, SO MAYBE.... YES!! THERE MIGHT BE A WAY! I HAVE AN IDEA THAT JUST MIGHT..."Cloud, get back here!!", she shouted to him as she pulled away from the rail, before his eagerness to be with Aeris got out of hand, and he fell overboard!
Still holding him, she called over her shoulder:"Hey, Cid! Could you do Cloud and me a quick favor?"
Cid jumped at her voice. He was so into flying, he forgot about the rest of world around him.
"Uh, yeah, Tifa, sure! What is it?"
Tifa hesitated due to the fact that Cloud was struggling to get free, and was becoming a heavy bother.
"...To... take... us to Sector 5 real quick. I have a feeling about something, that's all. Could you do it?"
Everyone stared at her with confused and worried eyes. She felt as if she were five inches tall. "It...it's something important.", she said, but mainly to Yuffie, who had a strong friendship bond with Aeris, and knew that's where she lived.
Yuffie, who began to feel her motion sickness creep up on her, sliped herself a tranquilizer in secret, and pulled away from Tifa's gaze. Then she winced and jumped up. "Cid, whatta ya think you're doin'?! Keep your eyes on where you're goin', ya big idiot!", she yelled, which made Cid reluctantly obey, and made everyone else laugh.
Cid grumbled as he resumed his flight. "I hate takin' orders, 'specially from some bossy, selfish, snot-nosed kid!"
