With the power of the crystal shards, characters can obtain different jobs to get certain skills. Although some jobs don't have attributes others have, they have ones that the others don't. By combing abilities, you can create a set of skills that suit you.
Knight
A good job for beginners, this job gives the character more HP and higher guard. Good with swords and daggers.
Special Skill:Guard
Level | Ability | Description |
1 | Cover | Protect Allies |
2 | Guard | Blocks Direct Attacks (no damage) |
3 | 2-Handed | Doubles Attack power, using two hands (can't equip shields) |
4 | Eq Shield | Allows characters who can't equip shields the ability to equip them |
5 | Eq Armor | Lets characters equip armor |
6 | Eq Sword | Characters who cannot equip swords can equip them |
Monk
Also has lots of HP. This is the only job that won't allow the user to equip weapons or shields, but will make base attack power stronger.
Special Skill: Kick
Level | Ability | Description |
1 | Store | Accumulates power for one turn and attacks the next - power is doubled |
2 | Barefist | lets the character have the same attack power as a monk - cannot equip weapons or shields |
3 | Chakra | Recovers some HP and status changes |
4 | Counter | Counter attack with a physical attack |
5 | HP 10% | Increases max HP by 10% |
6 | HP 20% | Increases max HP by 20% |
7 | HP 30% | Increases max HP by 30% |
Thief
Useful for getting around quickly and finding secret passages. Although stronger weapons and armor are not compatible, the skills are worth obtaining.

3 | Dash | Allows walking speed to increase |
4 | Steal | Steal items from enemies in battle |

7 | Footwork | Speed is the same as thief |
Lancer
Not very many abilities here, but they will serve you well. High HP and defense. Compatible with Lances, short swords, and most armor and shields.
Special Skill: Jump

1 | Jump | Perform a jump attack |
2 | Lance | Drain enemy's HP and MP to recover self |
3 | Eq Lance | Allows character to equip lances |
Ninja
Not the greatest job around, but you can get the throw and 2-sword command. Compatible with a variety of weapons.
Special Skill: Throw
Level | Ability | Description |
1 | Dustb | Escape from battle; faster than L1 + R1 |
2 | Twin | duplicate a copy of self to increase evading |
3 | Firstatk | Increases Pre-emptive attack rate |
4 | Throw | Throw weapons in battle to deal damage |
5 | 2 Sword | Can equip two weapons at a time; attack twice |
Samurai
With some practice, this job may make the most out of the user. Don't lose too much money though!
Special Skill: $toss

1 | Sslap | Attacks enemy; may have a chance of paralyzing opponent |
2 | $toss | Deal damage by throwing money; damage depends on amount of GP |
3 | Swrdgrab | Evades Sword attacks |
4 | EqKatana | Allows character to use katanas |
5 | Fdraw | Clean sweep enemies |
Beserker
A strong job to have, but loses the ability to use commands other than attack, due to the 'beserk' abnormal status. Only a couple of abilities.
Special Skill: 'Beserk' abnormal status

Hunter
A fair job that makes up with the Sshot, which attacks 4 times. Uses bows.

1 | Critt | Call for critters; critters vary acording to enviroment |
2 | Aim | Increase hit % accuracy |
3 | EqBow | Allows characters to equip bows |
4 | Sshot | Attack an enemy up to 4 times; if a shot is successful, the next is reduced to 1/2 the damage |
Sorcerer
A job combination of magic and swords. The advantage of this job, is the ability to cast magic and use swords, right from the start.

Red Mage
A combination of White and Black Magic, but only goes up to level 3. Some stronger weapons can be used.

Trainer
Another fair job. Has the ability to control beasts, which makes it easier to obtain blue magic. The only job that allows you to use the whip.

Chemist
Even though this job has decreased HP, the abilities are strong and useful.

2 | Mix | Create a new tonic from two during battle |
3 | Drink | Drink a potion made with the 'Mix' ability |
4 | Recvr | Heals abnormal status for the party |
5 | Rvive | Revives dead members of the party |
Geomancer
Strongly of the Earth element, although somewhat weak. Useful for finding ground traps. Few skills.
Special Skill: Earth

1 | Earth | Deal damage with the element of the Earth |
2 | Findhole | No damage will be received from the damage floor |
3 | Antitrap | Traps become visible |
Bard
Not the best job to keep. This job fares low HP and skills that aren't very useful. The only skill you might want to use is the levelup song.

2 | EqHarp | Allows characters to equip harps |
3 | Sing | Sing different songs during battle; songs have different abilities |
Dancer
Another fairly weak job. Dances have different effects when used. Few abilities. Only job that allows characters to use ribbons. Can't use strong weapons.

Mime
A secret job you can get in the third world. Although it's only one ability, it is quite useful when you need it.

1 | Mime | Imitates the previous character's actions |
Bare (no job)
Although this job isn't so special, you will have the chance to use any weapons, strong or weak, and you get to use two different abilities, because you can't get abilities from this job. Moderate HP.
