Final Fantasy 007: Never Say Nanaki Again

James Bond Theme music cues up. A gun barrel slides across the screen following Vincent. Vincent turns at the end of the screen and fires at the gun barrel. Red trickles down the screen.

Somewhere in Midgar…

Cloud and Vincent leap off of a building just as huge explosions emit from it's roof. Cloud and Vincent roll backwards as Shin-ra soldiers come running near the demolished building. Cloud and Vincent ran into an alleyway just as the soldiers pass by. Vincent smacks Cloud in the back of his head.

"I told you not to call Rufus that!" Vincent growled. "We came here just to pick up the information!" Cloud shrugged.

"What's the big deal?" Cloud demanded. A huge spotlight feel over the two.

"There they are!" Rufus shouted from his helicopter. "Call me the President of the hair club for men! You'll die for this!" He brushed back his orange hair. One of the Shin-ra soldiers began to laugh behind him. Rufus glared at him. He quickly shut up. A group of Shin-ra soldiers ran in front of the team.

"You know any stage jokes Vince?" Cloud asked.

"…." Vincent replied.

"Me neither… Let's get out of the spotlight!" Cloud shouted.

"Hell Masker…" Vincent whispered. A red aura flowed around Vincent. His body shifted into the shape of a chainsaw wielding maniac with a hockey mask. Cloud knew Vincent had ripped off the idea from somewhere. Vincent roared and swung his chainsaw around. The Shin-ra soldiers began to run away screaming. Rufus cursed from the chopter. Meanwhile, a soldier was sneaking up on Cloud. Cloud noticed the shadow behind him. Cloud whipped around and unsheathed his sword. The Shin-ra soldier smiled and waved, fear creeping through his body. Cloud pressed a button on the hilt of the sword. The sword unfolded apart into a huge missile launcher. The Shin-ra soldier gasped and ran into the building behind him. Cloud fired a shot. The building exploded. Cloud began to laugh. He fired at a few other buildings. Vincent transformed back into his normal self and grabbed the launcher.

"I thought they had you banned from using this?" Vincent shook the gun at him. Cloud shrugged.

"Well…" Cloud trailed off. Aeris and Tifa ran in from the side.

"Come on guys! We have to go!" Tifa shouted. They quickly fled down an alleyway. More Shin-ra soldiers ran in front of them.

"Vincent! Do another limit break!" Cloud cried.

"My meters not built up yet!" Vincent yelled back. He was busy pinching himself in hopes of filling it again. Aeris stepped in front of the team.

"Oh yeah! It's time for Aeris! Planet Protector!" Aeris cried. A red aura appeared around her. She ran into a nearby tollbooth. The two opponents waited in silence. One of the soldiers coughed. A few moments later, the tollbooth opened. Aeris stood there with a pink superhero outfit on. A pink cape flowed behind her. All the Shin-ra soldiers began to laugh. Aeris glared at them.

"Oooooh! We're scared now!" one of the soldiers laughed. Even Tifa was laughing on the side. Aeris pulled out her Princess Guard. The Shin-ra soldiers aimed there guns.

"Aeris!" Cloud cried as the soldiers opened fire on Aeris. The bullets ricocheted off her. Aeris laughed.

"What's the matter guys?" Aeris laughed. Aeris pointed at the group of soldiers. "Holy… Explosion!" A beam of white light slammed into them. The soldiers flew in all directions with a nice bowling strike sound effect. Aeris waved for the team. They quickly followed. A figure walked out from where they were standing.

"Wasn't that supposed to be my attack?" Orlandu scratched his head. The team fled up a ladder. A helicopter hovered over them.

"We're under attack!" Cloud shouted as he struggled to grab his sword/gun from Vincent.

"No we're not!" Vincent shouted. "This is our ride." A barrage of bullets landed in front of them from the helicopter.

"Whoops! Sorry about that! I meant to turn on the searchlight," Cait Sith shouted through his mega-phone. Cid shouted out and threw down a ladder. Tifa grabbed it and began to climb up. The rest of the team followed. Vincent handed the sword/gun back to Cloud. Vincent gave Cloud a menacing look. He quickly climbed up the rope ladder. Cloud sheathed his sword and climbed up after Vincent.

"Let's bust this joint!" Cid shouted. He tossed a cigarette from the helicopter. Delita, who also decided to cameo in this fanfic watched in horror as the cigarette landed in a shack near him labeled, "Explosives."

"Oh no! Not again!" Delita cried as he dove from the exploding building. The helicopter flies out of Midgar as the explosion gets bigger.

Rufus sits in his office with a cat near him.

"I'll get you next time Vincent! Next time!" Rufus shouted as he slammed the desk. Reno, Rude, and Elena walk into the office.

"Are you OK sir?" Elena asked. Rufus clenches his fist and gets up from his chair.

"Yes… I am now… I have a plan that will finally rid me of those fools," Rufus smiled. His metallic face gleaming in the light.

"What is it?" Reno inquired. Rufus got up from his chair and walked to the window. He looked up at Meteor. It's red glow shining over Midgar. A blimp flew by with the message, "The End is Near…" The message fades out to be replaced with, "Spend the remainder of your life at Gold Saucer!" Rufus looked back to the Turks.

"I want you to steal the Leviathan Materia from the team," Rufus replied plainly. Reno scratched his head.

"Umm… That doesn't seem much like a plan," Reno replied.

"Just do it… And I will give you further instructions," Rufus added. The Turks nodded and left the president's office. A figure appeared in the background. "This plan… will it work?" Rufus turned to the silent figure.

"According to my predictions, yes, in theory," Hojo replied. Rufus narrowed his eyes.

"Can I see the report?" Rufus questioned the professor.

"Well… Um… No. Goodbye!" Hojo added as he rushed back into the shadows. Rufus growled.

"I don't know why I deal with that man," Rufus moaned.

"Nanaki…" a whisper came to Red 013. He was resting by the fire in Cosmo Canyon. Red 013 looked up and glanced around. "Nanaki…" Bugenhagen appeared from behind him.

"Grandpa," Red 013 smiled at his grandfathers approached. Bugenhagen looked a little stern.

"I called you here to tell you something important," Bugenhagen began. Red 013 looked up at his grandfather in concern.

"What is it?" Red 013 asked. Bugenhagen began slowly.

"When your father rushed off into the last battle against the invading threats of Cosmo Canyon, he told me something very important. Red 013 looked up at him in interest. "He realized that he probably would never see me again or you. He brought me aside and told me to guard and protect you." Red 013 nodded.
"Well of course. Why wouldn't a grandfather protect his grandson?" Red 013 replied. Bugenhagen shook his head.

"My boy… I am not your grandfather…" Bugenhagen stated. Red 013 froze his reply. His breathing slowed for a minute.

"Not my grandfather? What do you mean?" Red 013 replied. Bugenhagen sighed.

"You're father knew that there would be no one here to be a role model for you. He asked me to pose as your grandfather so that you could live up to his example," Bugenhagen continued. "I had meant to tell you that I wasn't your grandfather earlier, but I felt the time wasn't right…" Red 013 suddenly shook his head in anger.

"You. You've been lying to me!" Red 013 snarled. "How could you do this?" Bugenhagen was at a loss of words. Red 013 growled and hopped away from the fire. He headed towards the exit of the Cosmo Canyon Observatory area.

"Nanaki!" Bugenhagne cried. Red 013 stopped and turned back to Bugenhagen.

"Never say Nanaki again!" Red 013 shouted. With that, he sped off into the canyon.

Yuffie whistled as she ran across her house wearing an apron and carrying a dust rag. She glanced over her vast materia collection.

"Ahh! Nothing like the smell of materia in the morning!" Yuffie called as she dusted off a piece of purple materia. Her father watched her and frowned.

"Yuffie?" Godo asked. Yuffie turned around with surprising speed.

"Yes!?" Yuffie cried. Godo shook his head from her shrill voice.

"It's five o'clock in the morning. You dusted the materia seven hours ago! Can't you wait?" Godo groaned.

"But the materia need to be cleaned!" Yuffie snapped. Godo groaned.

"How much coffee have you been drinking?" Godo asked.

"A few pitchers… Not much," Yuffie smiled. Her eyes were blood shot and she had bags under her eyes.

"Yuffie. I'm happy that you have a strong interest in materia… But this is obsession!" Godo shouted. "You're with these materia 24 hours a day!" Yuffie frowned.

"But I thought you wanted me to get you materia?" Yuffie frowned. Godo looked sternly at Yuffie.

"Yes, but that was it! You didn't have to become a personal caretaker of each individual materia!" Godo shouted. He groaned. "I'm going back to bed… I'd suggest you do the same." Godo quietly returned upstairs. Yuffie paid no attention to her father and continued shining her materia. Footsteps came from the stairs.

"Dad! I told you that I'm busy!" Yuffie shouted. She looked to the stairway to see Reno, Rude, and Elena standing there. "Hey! I didn't hear your theme music cue up!" The Turks theme music cues up…

"Good morning Yuffie. We were hoping that we could just take a piece of materia while you weren't here. But I guess we were wrong," Reno explained. He pulled out his rod and slapped it into his hand. The rod sparked a little. "Ouch! Damn static!" Reno groaned as he shook his hand. Elena stepped forward.

"Just hand over the Leviathan materia Yuffie, and no one gets hurt," Elena said plainly. Yuffie tossed down her rag and grabbed one of her crosses from the wall.

"Hand it over! Yeah right! These are my pride and joy! Each materia is like a son and daughter to me!" Yuffie cried. Rude groaned.

"Does this mean we need a court order?" Elena asked Reno. Reno glared at her.

"Elena… Don't act so weak," Reno replied. Elena's face turned red as she stamped the floor. Reno turned to Yuffie and walked toward the red materia section of Yuffie's exhibit.

"Stay back!" Yuffie cried. "I am the most powerful thief in the world!" Yuffie raised her cross. "Grease Lightning!" The Grease theme cues up in the background. Elena covers her ears.

"Turn that crap off!" Elena cried. Rude turns around and shoots off the screen. Someone screams and the theme goes dead. Yuffie looked for something to attack with. Yuffie grabbed a piece of green materia from a stand.

"What is this," Yuffie murmured looking on the materia for the name. "Ah! Taste the power of… Sleepel?" Yuffie gasped. Reno lunged at her and nailed her in the chest with his staff. Yuffie was thrown backwards into a wall. Yuffie groaned and slid to the floor. Rude looked through the materia and picked out a red one with the etching of Leviathan on it.

"OK! Got it Reno," Rude shouted. Reno took it from Rude and held it into the air.

"Fire at it Rude," Reno shouted. Yuffie shook her head to rid the chocobo's running around it chirping "Wooheehoo!" She got up and gasped. Screen goes into slow motion.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo," Yuffie cried. Reno tossed the materia into the air. The gun fires with the bullet slowly heading for the materia piece. The bullet collides with the materia. The room is filled with a red aura and a gust of energy that has the shape of the Leviathan. The screen goes back to normal. Yuffie's face turns white as she dives to the floor and squanders over the red shards of her Leviathan materia. Reno smiles and walks out with Rude and Elena. Yuffie begins to cry as she clutches the materia to her. Thunder and lightning can be heard from outside as a downpour of rain washes over Wutai.

Cloud walks through the halls of the secret base. He's humming the Coca Cola theme.

"Always Turbo Ether!" Cloud sings happily. Suddenly, Cid runs out from a room.

"Cloud!" Cid shouted."

"Ahhhhh!" Cloud jumped backwards. Cloud shook his head. "What is it?"

"We just got a distress signal from Wutai!" Cid called. "It's from Yuffie." Cloud scratched her head.

"What does she want?" Cloud asked. Cid shook his head.

"I don't know. You better listen to her call," Cid replied. Cid led the way to the communications room. He pressed a button on his answering machine.

"I'm sorry, but I can't $#^@&#* answer the %#$*$(@ phone right now! Please leave your $%#(*@^ message after the %#&$*#( tone!" the answering machine played. Cloud scratched his head.

"This is a federal agency. Why didn't you answer the phone?" Cloud asked.

"I was busy!" Cid replied. Cloud looked around and saw the Playstation on. Cid was busy trying to beat Ruby WEAPON by only using himself, Mime and Highwind.

"You know you'll never do it," Cloud laughed. Cid banged the table.

"I will! Highwind will beat him where Knights of the Round have failed!" Cid shouted. Cid thought for a minute. "I wonder if there's such a thing as W-Limit Materia?" The answering machine finally reached Yuffie's message after ten AT&T messages.

"Hello? Is anybody there!? This is Yuffie!" Yuffie cried on the recording. She then went hysterical. "It's all over!" she wailed. "Meteor's gonna crash into us and we're gonna die! And my materia… my precious materia! Don't worry… my children… he's gone to a better place." Yuffie wailed some more and hung up.

"What is she on?" Cloud asked.

"Don't know… But she sounded pretty upset," Cid replied. "Let's go to Wutai!"

"I'll come too," Vincent called from the ceiling. He dropped from a rafter.

"What the hell were you doing up there?" Cloud asked. Vincent shrugged.

"I… don't… know," Vincent exclaimed. Cid shook his head and the three rushed off onto the Highwind. The Highwind took off with a burst of wind and roared off to Wutai.

"We did like you asked," Reno told Rufus.

"Excellent… Now I shall tell you my plan, which was stolen from Hojo, which was stolen from some other guy," Rufus looked to the Turks. "Leviathan has been a sign of the seas for all who worshipped it for hundreds of years. Leviathan, in myth, controlled the waves, the ocean, the weather…" The Turks stared without thought.

"So?" Reno finally broke the silence. Rufus narrowed his eyes.

"With the approaching threat of Meteor, there will be an increasing amount of gravity affecting the oceans. My theory is that ocean has not been affected because Leviathan has been here to prevent it. But, now that he is no longer present, the ocean will begin to become rough. Waves of enormous lengths will flood across the world. The Turks gasped.

"Are you crazy? That'll destroy us even before Meteor actually hits us!" Elena shouted. Rufus shook his head.

"Not true Elena… I construct a dome that will envelope Midgar so that no water will be able to enter the city," Rufus smiled. "Look out the window. The preparations are already being made," Rufus gestured outside. The Turks watched as cranes were hoisting massive supports onto the sides of Midgar.

"Now I know how they got the Mako Cannon position so quickly," Rude looked at the construction.

"You're going to annihilate an entire world just to get at Cloud and the others?!" Elena cried in shock. "That's so mean!" (She borrowed the quote from Liza when Roufas sold Emelia as a bar dancer to Trinity in SaGa Frontier.) Roufas, er I mean Rufus began to laugh.

"Those fools have caused me too much trouble. And now I'll deal with all the remaining countries as well!" Rufus looked over Midgar. "In fact, more people will return to Midgar!" The Turks backed out of the room. Rufus turned to them. "Oh, and Reno." Reno stepped back into the room.

"Umm… Yes?" Reno gulped.

"Congratulate yourself on ending the world," Rufus smiled. Reno sighed and left. Rufus walked over to his desk and took a sip of his coffee. Hojo appeared behind him.

"I trust that we'll have the Midgar Protection Plan done soon?" Rufus turned to Hojo. Hojo nodded.

"Certainly Rufus… It will be done very soon," Hojo replied. Rufus begins to laugh.

"Yuffie, this materia won't work," Cloud held a piece of red materia which was glued and taped back together.

"Sure it will!" Yuffie shouted as she grabbed the materia out of Cloud's hand and held it into the air.

"Leviathan!!" Yuffie shouted. The materia groaned and lit a little. Yuffie burst into tears and collapsed on the floor. Cid grabbed her arm.

"Yuffie snap out of it!" Cid snapped as he shook her.

"The materia… my precious materia…" Yuffie sobbed. "Mommy wasn't able to save you." Yuffie grabbed Cid's shirt and blew her nose. Cid turned away in disgust. Vincent walked over and examined the materia that Yuffie had dropped.

"Yep… This materia is just a paperweight now," Vincent nodded looking at the materia. Cloud shook his head.

"Why would the Turks break just the Leviathan materia? It's the most useless one, aside from Titan. Why not something more powerful like Knights of the Round? And why did they break it and not just take it?" Cloud stared at Vincent.

"It makes as much sense to you as it does me," Vincent replied. He walked over and picked up a half empty pitcher of coffee. "You mind if I have some Yuffie?" Yuffie shook her head in one of her breaks from wailing. Vincent poured a cup and looked back to Cid.

"Well… Where to now?" Vincent asked. Cid shrugged.

"I guess we should return to base. Maybe Cait Sith has gotten some information on this," Cid replied. He stood up, leaving Yuffie in her stupor state.

"Shouldn't we take her too?" Cloud asked. Cid shrugged. He walked over to Yuffie.

"Yuffie!! We're taking some of your materia!! OK?" Cid shouted. Yuffie's eyes went wide. She stood up.

"Then I shall come too," Yuffie put her arm over chest. They picked up a few pieces of 'Shin-ra's Choice' materia and left. Godo caught them on the way out of Wutai.

"Agents 007 and 008… Please watch over Yuffie. She's been acting a bit strange," Godo pleaded. Cloud nodded.

"We will…" Cloud replied.

"Look whose talking… Him and his three heads," Cid whispered into Vincent's ear. The team filed into the Highwind. Cid unlocked his Airship club and the ship took off.

Red 013 trudged into the office. Aeris noted his bad mood.

"Hey? What's the matter Red 013?" Aeris asked.

"Nothing… Except that my life has been based on nothing but lies…" Red 013 replied. Aeris thought for a minute.

"Well… um… Get Well Soon!" Aeris smiled as she walked into another office. Barret and Tifa were busy going through files. "Someone has to get that guy therapy." Barret shrugged.

"He's a talking lion. Whose gonna givem therapy?" Barret asked. Tifa smirked.

"A veterinarian," Tifa laughed. Suddenly, Cloud, Vincent, and Cid dashed down the hall. Yuffie staggered behind them. Barret, Aeris, and Tifa headed them off.

"What is it?" Aeris asked.

"Can't explain now!" Cloud shouted as they ran down the hall and turned down another hallway.

"That's Cait Sith's department," Tifa looked to Barret. The three chased after them. Yuffie stood in the middle of the hallway. Her face was worn with tears.
"What's the matter Yuffie?" Aeris asked.

"I've failed the Planet…" Yuffie sobbed. Aeris though for a moment.

"Well… uhh… Get Well Soon!" Aeris smiled as she walked past her. Yuffie glumly followed. The team walked into Cait Sith's spy room.

"Mayday! Mayday! I'm losing your transmission!" Cait Sith shouted into his radio.

"What are you listening too?" Yuffie shouted in Cait Sith's ear. Cait Sith cringed. The transmission went dead.

"Nuts… I was listening to the chocobo race positions," Cait Sith replied.

"Hey, where did Cloud, Vincent, and Cid go?" Tifa asked. Toilets flushing could be heard as Cid, Vincent and Cloud walked out of the men's room.

"Uh… Dats disgustin'! Dey didn't even wash their hands!" Barret repulsed. Cid shook hands with Barret.

"How's it going Barret?" Cid asked.

"Better when you weren't here," Barret mumbled. Cloud walked over to Cait Sith.

"Hey Cait Sith. Any interesting news?" Cloud asked. Cait Sith shook his head.

"Just more rumors on Final Fantasy 5 coming to the PC," Cait Sith moaned. "Now they're saying it isn't coming to the US but they're going to release Final Fantasy 1-3 for the Nintendo 64." Cid shook his head.

"Idiots! They're not releasing anything that good for the Nintendo 64!" Cid laughed. (They will eventually you jackass!)

"Can I try?" Yuffie asked. Before Cait Sith could shout no, Yuffie pushed him out of the way and began fiddling with the knobs. A whirring of sound came from the speakers. "Huge tidal waves have been reported…" a voice called before it was lost.

"Wait! Go back!" Cloud shouted. Yuffie spun the knob back.

"Costa Del Sol and Mideel… Others report terrible weather conditions in Kalm and Gongaga," the voice came back on the radio. "We'll give you a report from ChocoBilly's farm!" Vincent turned around and turned on the television set.

"What station is that?" Vincent asked.

"Classic Rock!" Yuffie cried out. Cid smacked her in the head.

"Try channel 4," Cait Sith fumbled with a few dials. The screen showed Choco Bill in front of his farm.

"Good evening Mr. Bill or Mr. Choco," the reporter cried over the wind. "We've had reports that a hurricane has been in this area!"

"That's right!" Choco Bill shouted back. We're doing our best to seal the farm and stables from the weather."

"What do you think is causing this weather?" the reporter called.

"I think it's El Nino!" Cait Sith added. Everyone gave Cait Sith an evil glare which caused him to fall off his Mog.

"No idea! I just need to take care of my farm! But I think that the wind is blowing in from the ocean!" Choco Billy cried. Suddenly, a chocobo flew by in the background.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrkkkk!!!" the chocobo cried as it tumbled and flapped in the air.

"I didn't know chocobo's could fly!" Aeris looked at the screen.

"Only in Final Fantasy 4 they can!" Cloud replied to her statement.

"They do in Final Fantasy 5 too," Vincent added. Cloud looked back at him.

"Whatever!" Cloud growled. The screen went blank as lightning flashed in the back of the screen.

"So you think that these weather conditions are because of that little piece of materia?" Cloud asked Cid. Cid shook his head.

"Don't be a moron! How could a stupid little piece of materia be affecting the entire world!" Cid shouted. Yuffie coughed.

"That's not completely true…" Yuffie muttered.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Vincent asked. Yuffie paced around the room.
"Well… In our culture, we believe that Da-Chao controls the earth and the fire and Leviathan controls the water and wind. If the Leviathan materia really was keeping Leviathan in existence, then we may have just lost control of the weather," Yuffie explained. Cid shook his head.

"I don't believe this! They're has to be more to it!" Cid growled.

"We have to find someone who knows about these things," Tifa added.

"And we gotta go see what's going on in dem towns!" Barret declared.

"Red 013! Your grandfather might know how to stop this phenomenon," Vincent told the lion. Red 013 shunned at the name.

"He is not my grandfather… And I do not wish to see him," Red 013 turned from Vincent. Cid groaned.

"This isn't the time for a family feud! We have to get this weather thing fixed!" Cid shouted. Red 013 refused to comment.

"We don't have time for this," Aeris finally intervened. "Cid, Barret, Cloud, Cait Sith and myself will go to Cosmo Canyon. Red 013, Vincent, Tifa, and Yuffie will go to Costa Del Sol to see what happened," Aeris explained. Barret nodded.

"Sounds good to me! Let's go," Barret shouted.

"Wait!" Aeris cried. Barret skidded to a halt as he was exiting the room and banged his gun-arm against the wall. It fired off. Someone screamed in the background.

"Ooops. My bad," Barret blushed.

"We have to get prepared," Aeris walked away from the television. "Go to the briefing room!"

"Leeeeeeeeeeetttt's mosey!" Cloud called out. The team ran out the door. Vincent stopped to clock Cloud in the head.

"OK team!" Aeris smiled. "We'll be using weather adapted equipment on this mission." She gestured for Cloud to step forward.

"I have a few gadgets for you Cloud," Aeris smiled. She placed a head set on the table.

"This is Lucca's helmet. We stole it from Chrono Trigger for this fanfic. It can read the HP of a target and has infravision capabilities. Cloud tried it on. Vincent laughed.

"Wow! It makes you look just as stupid as Lucca!" Vincent snickered.

"You're one to talk!" Cloud called back. Aeris handed something else to Cloud.

"This is a special top secret hair coating that Rufus uses. Put this in your hair so it won't be soaked from the excess weather we're having," Aeris explained. Cloud smiled and took off the helmet.

"Better put this on quick!" Cloud muttered as he opened the tube. Aeris walked over to Vincent. She handed Vincent a crimson cape.

"Here. This is a weather resistant cape. It can repel the rain and even lightning! But… we haven’t tested that feature yet," Aeris explained. She handed Vincent another device. "This is a flare gun enhancement. You can attach it to your gun. Use it if you need to signal us."

"You guys ready?" Cid called in as he walked into a room with a new spear that opened up to become an umberella. Aeris had pulled out her old parasol that Cait Sith had stolen from the roller coaster attraction. Cid motioned to the docking bay.

"I'll take the Highwind! You guys can take the submarine," Cid motioned to the Shin-ra submarine. Cid had plastered a picture of himself onto the side of it. Cait Sith frowned.

"Do you really have that big of an ego! It's bad enough you put that nude woman on the Highwind!" Cait Sith cried out.

"You're just lucky that they changed it for the American version," Red 013 commented. Cid ignored the comments.

"Let's go!" Tifa urged everyone on. Everyone fled to their own vehicles.

The Highwind soared through the storm. Lightning flashed across the sky. The Highwind swerved through the clouds and entered the Cosmo Canyon area. The sky turned red for some unexplainable reason. The Highwind landed down into the canyon. The observatory stood before them. Cloud walked out of the Highwind and pointed to the observatory.

"Let's go!" Cloud shouted. Cid opened his umbrella/spear and walked out of the Highwind.

"Wow! I only remember it raining in Midgar and snowing in the Icicle Area," Cid smoked his cigarette. Cait Sith came up behind him.

"And did you notice it's always night in Cosmo Canyon and Gold Saucer?" Cait Sith announced in his megaphone over the rain.

"No… Now that you mention it… I've never noticed!" Cid furrowed his brows. Aeris stepped out of the Highwind wearing a pink raincoat.

"Come on! We don't have much time left," Aeris motioned for the team to go ahead. Barret walked out behind her.

"Man! My gun iz gonna rust!" Barret groaned. The team hastily made it to the observatory. They walked into the caverns and climbed up the many ladders to reach the upper observatory. The team opened the door and walked into the observatory. Bugenhagen was floating in the room watching "Noah's Ark."

"Bugenhagen!" Cloud shouted. Bugenhagen looked over to the team.

"Ho Ho Hooooo! How are things going Cloud?" Bugenhagen floated over to the team.

"Bad… Very bad… you know about the weather outside right?" Cloud asked Bugenhagen. Bugenhagen nodded.

"I'm afraid so," Bugenhagen replied.

"Oh! Do we get to look at your star wars model!" Cait Sith shouted. Everyone glared at him.

"My planetary simulator? Certainly, I could show it to you on the model," Bugenhagen began to float towards his model. The rest of team followed. They followed him up onto his elevator and onto the model. The huge materia stood at opposite sides of the room, gleaming their strange auras.

"Hey! I got some master materia to redeem! Hold on a sec guys," Cid walked over to the Master Command Huge Materia.

"You see," Bugenhagen motioned to the Planet. "I believe the problem started here." He gestured to the town of Wutai. "A huge amount of spirit energu was destroyed over here."

"That must have been the Leviathan materia," Cloud mumbled.

"Did you just say Leviathan!" Bugenhagen gasped.

"Yep," Cloud nodded.

"Oh, nevermind. I though you said something else," Bugenhagen continued.

"You stupid %$#^#*@ piece of %$&*!" Cid shouted. "I gave you a piece of $#^$&#* Morph materia!" He began to kick the materia. Aeris and Cloud quickly pulled him away.

"Well… anyway, I believe that the abnormal weather conditions are a result of the increasing gravitational force between Meteor and the Planet."

"Say it in English!" Cait Sith shouted.

"Meteor is affecting the oceans," Bugenhagen said plainly.

"I still don't understand," Cait Sith frowned.

"The ocean saw Meteor and is trying to runaway," Bugenhagen said irritably.

"Umm… OK," Cait Sith replied confused. He walked over to Cloud. "Are you sure this is the guy we should be seeing?" he whispered. Cloud ignored him.

"So. Meteor is also affecting the weather?" Cloud asked. Bugenhagen nodded.

"Yes. The spirit energy that Meteor possesses is negative, which is causing the Planet to go into chaos. That's why Holy is necessary to void it," Bugenhagen continued.

"Hmm… If Yuffie is correct about the Leviathan materia…" Aeris muttered. She tapped Cloud on the shoulder. "Did we ever master Leviathan materia?" Aeris asked Cloud.

"I think so… But we used the mastered copy to create a Master Summon materia," Cloud replied. Barret got an idea. A lightbulb appeared over his head.

"Hey! I know how to dodge Flash! I mean… What if we was to take the Master Summon materia and break off the Leviathan piece?" Barret asked. Bugenhagen thought for a minute.

"If the Leviathan materia is the source of this problem, getting a new shard may be the answer," Bugenhagen explained. "But, you can't just break it off of the Master Summon!" Bugenhagen began to laugh.

"What if we drained it! If it lost enough of it's energy, it may break apart into the original pieces!" Cid prided himself on the idea.

"Hmmm… How would we drain it?" Aeris asked.

"Dig a hole?" Cait Sith quoted Cid from Final Fantasy 4. Cloud grabbed the cat and tossed it across the room. The Mog went scrambling to find his lost passenger.

"Wait! The Mako Cannon used Mako energy when it fired right?" Cloud said.

"That's right. Dey used them Mako Reactors to power it," Barret replied.

"What if we had the Mako Cannon drain the Master Summon! It might break it apart," Cloud thought of the idea.

"You know how dangerous that'd be?" Aeris looked with concern at Cloud.

"It's either that or the next fanfic is going to be called 'Water World,'" Cid commented.

"Oh God no!" Barret groaned.

"Let's wait for the rest of the team and tell them the plan," Cloud explained. The rest of the team nodded.

"Now back to killing the Master Command Huge Materia," Cid cried as he lunged at it. Barret and Cloud ran over to pull him off. Aeris walked over to Bugenhagen.

"Hey Bugen. Why was Red 013 acting so strange?" Aeris asked Bugenhagen. Bugenhagen sighed.

"He's upset that I'm not his biological grandfather," Bugenhagen groaned. Aeris smirked.

"He didn't know that?" Aeris said in surprise. Bugenhagen shook his head.

"I'm afraid not… But, if he wants to fight well again, he must forget this and continue on," Bugenhagen added.

The submarine slowly headed for Costa Del Sol.

"Costa Del Sol dead ahead!" Yuffie shouted with her shrill voice. She drained another coffee pitcher.

"I know Yuffie!" Vincent growled as he piloted the submarine.

"No… I mean, Costa Del Sol dead ahead!" Yuffie called back looking in the periscope. Tifa looked into the periscope.

"Oh my gosh!" Tifa said in shock.

"What is it?" Red 013 asked.

"Costa Del Sol… Is…" Tifa trailed off. Vincent pulled into the dock of Costa Del Sol.

"What is it Tifa?" Vincent asked as he hopped out of the driver's seat. Tifa opened the top of the sub and hopped out of the submarine. The rest of the team jumped out of the submarine. The sky was a dull gray. Threatening with rain any minute.

"Jenova, Aeris, and Sephiroth…" Vincent cursed. He glanced down at the destroyed Costa Del Sol. All the buildings had been crushed by something huge.

"Maybe they're survivors?" Yuffie asked. Tifa nodded.

"We better check," Tifa replied.

"If this is only the beginning… We are doomed," Red 013 sighed.

"Stop being your pessimistic self," Vincent commented. "We'll stop this." The team wandered into the town.

"Hello? Anybody here?!" Tifa shouted.

"Come out if you're not dead!!" Yuffie shouted. Vincent glared at her. There was a moan from under some wreckage. Vincent walked over and lifted a piece of wood up. A man groaned as he crawled out from under the wreckage.

"Are you OK?" Red 013 asked.

"What happened here?" Tifa asked.

"Big… clearance… sale…" the man groaned.

"He must be delirious," Red 013 groaned. "As is our ninja friend." She was over in the corner of some wreckage petting and whispering to a piece of materia.

"What did this?" Vincent asked calmly as he helped the man up.

"Huge… tidal wave… Like in Deep Impact… Only the scene was done correctly…" the man groaned.

"Is there anyone else here?" Red 013 asked. The man shook his head.

"Everyone ran when one of the ships in the harbor was pulled under the tides… I stayed to watch my inn…" the man laughed. "Guess I didn't do a good job huh?"

"You did a terrible job!" Yuffie cried out. Tifa waved her hand at her to hush.

"Will you be OK?" Tifa asked. The man nodded.

"I suppose so… I'll follow where everyone else ran off to," the man explained. The team walked away from him.

"This is bad…" Tifa replied.

"Very…" Red 013 added.

"If the other towns are in this shape, this may be worse than what we'd been expecting," Vincent explained.

"We better meet up with Cloud and the others," Tifa finished after looking over the wreckage once again.

"Right. Let's not waste time," Vincent added. They walked over to grab Yuffie, who was singing 'It's the end of the World as we know it!'

"Enough Yuffie," Vincent growled. "What's making you act like this! Are you on drugs or something?" Yuffie didn't reply. They rushed off to the submarine.

Rufus sat in his office looking out over Midgar. Scarlet, Heiddeger and Hojo walked into the room.

"Welcome my friends," Rufus smiled. His metallic face reflecting the light.

"The dome in nearly complete," Hojo reported.

"And all defense systems are ready in case something goes wrong," Heiddeger added.

"And your plan to lure others to your city is working. The people of Junon and Kalm are already beginning to migrate here after massive storms wracked their towns," Scarlet finished.

"Excellent. The plan is working just as planned. And I shall finally be rid of those fools," Rufus laughed. The three left the room.

"I don't know about you, but I think that man is crazy," Scarlet whispered to the other two.

"This plan is completely mad. He's going to destroy us all," Heiddeger added.

"Then we won't have to worry about Meteor," Hojo added with his own sinister grin. Suddenly, the Turks appeared in front of them.

"We have decided to go against Rufus," Reno started the conversation.

"We can't just let him destroy an entire world," Elena continued.

"When do we stop him?" Heiddeger inquired.

"When the time is right. Cloud and his band will definitely arrive here eventually," Reno continued.

"How to you know that?" Scarlet asked.

"It says in the script," Rude held out the scripts for the fanfic. The newly formed alliance looked back to their fallen president's office.

"So, that's the plan," Cloud explained. Vincent tapped his fingers.

"Sounds like it may work," Vincent replied.

"Or it might not," Yuffie added.

"How will we even get to the Mako Cannon?" Tifa asked.

"Well, we can't parachute in," Cait Sith said sadly.

"What? Why the $#%@ not?" Cid asked.

"The Shin-ra have built a dome over Midgar to keep it safe from the weather and ocean," Cait Sith explained.

"Sounds like something da Shin-ra would do," Barret muttered.

"Then we'll find another way in," Cloud continued. "We'll get to the Mako Cannon and install the Master Summon materia into it."

"I don't know if this is even going to work," Cid groaned.

"We have to try," Aeris replied.

"Fine. Let's take the Highwind there," Cid quickly stood up.

"Right," Cloud said. The team quickly filed out.

"Nanaki," Bugenhagen called to Red 013.

"You heard me before. Never say Nanaki again!" Red 013 growled.

"If you can't come to grips with yourself, you may hurt the mission," Bugenhagen replied. Red 013 stood silent for a minute. He then left in a hurry.

The Highwind silently docked near the newly encased Midgar. A storm raged in the sky above.

"Let's find a way in!" Cloud shouted. The rest of the team exited the Highwind.

"I don't think that'll be necessary," a voice shouted from a wall of Midgar. A commander walked out with a band of Shin-ra soldiers. "Get them!"

"Let's go!" Cloud cried as he waved is sword. Cait Sith pulled out his Trumpet Shell. Cait Sith played the charge melody.

"Charge!" Cait Sith shouted through his megaphone. Cloud ran straight into a pack of soldiers. He lower his head and head butted one of them. The soldier cried out and was tossed back. Cloud swung around and slashed the other soldiers with his sword.

"Wow! That hair gel really works!" Cloud smiled. He fixed on his special helmet and went to engage against more of the soldiers. Two soldiers aimed at Tifa. Tifa turned around and pulled out a piece of yellow materia.

"Morph!" Tifa cried as she leapt at the soldier and punched him. The soldier cried out in pain as he transformed into a potion. The other soldier looked at the potion in sadness.

"My brother! You turned my brother into a potion! A potion damn you!!" the soldier cried as he grabbed the potion and ran away.

"Die you scum!" Barret shouted as him and Vincent opened fire on a group of soldiers. Yuffie dashed out from no where and held up a piece of purple materia.

"Chocobos! Join me! I am the chocobo queen!" Yuffie cried. All the soldiers looked at her funny. Then suddenly, someone heard a 'wark' from the sky. Four chocobos crashed into the soldiers near Yuffie.

"It's raining chocobos!" Cid shouted through the wind. Cloud raced at another pair of soldiers.

"Take this you!" Cloud shouted as he raised his sword. Lightning struck the sword and sent Cloud flying. Red 013 dove in to take over the battle. He trampled a soldier and sent another running for his life. Aeris came up behind him.

"You're not getting away that easy!" Aeris shouted. She held up a piece of a piece of red materia. "Ifrit!" The materia glowed. Suddenly, the ground split apart. Ifrit tore from the ground in rage.

"Someone call me?" Ifrit snarled. He looked and saw the fleeing Shin-ra soldier. "Welcome to my barbecue!" Ifrit removed a flame-thrower from his back. (Supplied by the 007 headquarters) He launched a wave of fire at soldier. The soldier caught fire and began running in circles.

"Hey! All the soldiers are gone!" Cloud shouted. He had recovered from his lightning attack. Five figures appeared before them.

"It' the Turks!" Vincent shouted.

"And the Shin-ra!" Barret added.

"Wait!" Heiddeger cried.

"We've come to help you!" Reno shouted. All the team members looked puzzled.

"Why would you help us?" Tifa asked. Elena stepped forward.

"We don't want the world destroyed!" Elena shouted. "Rufus must be stopped!"

"We need to get to the Mako Cannon!" Vincent shouted.

"Follow us!" Rude called. The team cautiously followed after the Shin-ra and the Turks.

"I don't like this," Cid whispered to Vincent. Vincent nodded.

"Yeah. I don't like having to trust the Shin-ra either," Vincent replied. The team reached the Mako Cannon. No rain poured down because of the glass barrier.

"It's up there!" Cait Sith shouted.

"No really?" Cloud replied.

"Hojo's up on the cannon. You do what you need to stop this," Scarlet replied.

"No one is stopping anything!" a voice shouted. They turned around to see a huge mechanical robot stamping through the streets.

"Hey! That looks like Proud Clod!" Aeris cried.

"No… This is Cloud Prod!" Rufus shouted from the driver's seat of the huge robot. He stepped forward. One of the huge mechanical arms jutted out and nailed Cloud in the chest. Cloud cried out as he was sent sprawling backwards.

"We don't have time for this," Vincent complained. The storm was getting far worse outside. The Cloud Prod opened up it's chest to reveal sets of machine guns and other weaponry. He fired down at the team. Yuffie and red 013 were thrown to the side from the barrage.

"Let's get him!" Heiddeger shouted. The Turks went rushing at the robot.

"Oh yeah? Turk Surprise!" Rufus laughed. The robot fired a blast of light at the Turks. Reno, Rude, and Elena froze in their tracks.

"They're frozen," Tifa called. Aeris ran over to Vincent.

"Do you still have that Flare Gun?" Aeris asked. Vincent nodded. "Fire it into Rufus' cockpit." Vincent fixed the flare gun enhancement on the gun and aimed at Cloud Prod.

"You think you can stop me ex-Turk?" Rufus shouted. He launched a blast of lightning at Vincent. The lightning was absorbed by the cape.

"That was quite a charge," Vincent muttered. "Smile!" He fired the flare at Rufus' cockpit. The flare exploded with a burst of light.

"Ahhhh! I can't see! My eyes!" Rufus cried as the robot began to crash into the buildings around it. He staggered near a store. An old man appeared at the door.

"Hey! You get that oversized toy away from my store!" the old man cried. He waved his cane at him. Rufus continued to stagger around. "I wise guy huh? I'm just gonna have to teach you some manners!" The old man walked out waved the cane at the robot. The cane banged into the robot just as Cloud Prod lost it's balance and fell backwards. "That'll teach ya youngins'!" Vincent glanced at the stupid cameo for another moment and then dashed up the Mako Cannon holding the Master Summon materia. Vincent narrowed his eyes as he saw Hojo.

"How's it going friend," Hojo smiled. Vincent sneered at him.

"Where on the cannon can I put this in to use as an alternative power source?" Vincent demanded. Hojo looked at the master summon materia.

"Over in the utility area, but why would you do that?" Hojo asked. Vincent mildly explained the idea. Hojo thought for a minute and nodded.

"Seems like it'd work," Hojo muttered. "I'll go to you once I put it in." The rest of the team came running onto the cannon.

"I'm going with Hojo to keep an eye on the Master Summon materia," Yuffie declared. He followed Hojo off of the cannon.

"The rest of us will stay here," Cloud replied. Hojo went down to where the wires and cables controlled the energy flow into the Mako Cannon. Hojo looked over the many connectors and chose.

"Is this where we have to cut the red wire!?" Yuffie said in excitement. Hojo frowned.

"Of course not. We don't have to cut anything," Hojo replied.

"Can I cut something anyway?" Yuffie asked Hojo with eagerness. Hojo groaned.

"No. You may not. Now stop pestering me before I freak out and become a Jenova monster," Hojo growled.

"Like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde right?" Yuffie asked. Hojo ignored the statement and placed the Summon Materia onto a platform. He disconnected two connectors and set them onto the materia. He brushed off his hands and backed off. He picked up a communications radio and called to the cannon.

"Now listen closely. You must shut off the cannon at the exact time I say. Otherwise, you may destroy the materia in the process," Hojo spoke over the intercom. Vincent nodded.

"I'll shut the power down when Hojo calls," Vincent declared. He flipped a huge switch. The Mako groaned as it began to charge.

"Ha Ha Ha Ha! Do you fools think you can save the world?" a voice called from above them.

"Huh? Who's there?" Cloud called. Sephiroth appeared with the Masamune in hand.

"Sephiroth!" everyone shouted in unison. Sephiroth took a bow.

"That's my name… Don't wear it out," Sephiroth smiled.

"What are you doing here?" Tifa called up to him. Sephiroth began to laugh.

"Just ensuring that no one disrupts my plans," Sephiroth replied. Everyone looked confused.

"Your plans?" Aeris replied.

"Did you notice anyone acting strangely?" Sephiroth replied. Vincent narrowed his eyes.

"What did you do to Yuffie?" Vincent called.

"I tried my new experimental Triple Tranquilizer!" Sephiroth laughed. "She'll never manage to get a limit break up in her current condition. And Rufus…" Sephiroth trailed off.

"What did you do to Rufus?" Scarlet shouted.

"I tried my reverse product… Triple Hyper! It made Rufus go completely nuts!" Sephiroth laughed. "When I learned how he was acting, I knew it was merely a matter of time before he tried something like this."

"How did you get it to them?" Vincent asked. Sephiroth held out a coffee cup.

"The best part of waking up is having hyper in your cup!" Sephiroth laughed. He through the cup down to them. It shattered on the floor. Red 013 looked up at Sephiroth.

"We cannot let you disrupt us!" Red 013 shouted.

"Oh no?" Sephiroth laughed. He landed in front of the controls.

"Turn off the Mako Cannon!" Hojo shouted over the radio. Vincent rushed forward. Sephiroth waved his Masamune and caused a burst of energy to sweep everyone back. Vincent and Red 013 managed to snag the side of the platform before falling down to the next level under them. Sephiroth walked towards them.

"Now… This is where I win and it says Game Over," Sephiroth sneered. Vincent and Red 013 climbed on the platform.

"Shut down the system," Vincent shouted. Red 013 lunged for the controls. Sephiroth's Masamune came crashing down in front of him.

"Turn off the Cannon!" Hojo shouted on the intercom.

"Not so fast Simba," Sephiroth laughed. "Oh wait… You never had a name either? But you had a number," Sephiroth glared at him.

"I am Nanaki!" Red 013 cried. Vincent fired at the Masamune. Sephiroth gasped as it fell from his grip. Red 013 grabbed the switch in his jaw and pulled. The Mako Cannon groaned in protest. Sephiroth roared in anger. "Forgive me grandpa." Sephiroth's face turned red.

"You will still die!" Sephiroth shouted. He floated into the air in front of the cannon. Cait Sith jumped up the steps.

"I'm heeeeeeeerrrrrrrrreeeeeee! What did I miss?" Cait Sith called.

"Just the end of the world," Sephiroth smiled.

"Aw nuts… That sounds important…" Cait Sith frowned. Sephiroth pointed upwards. A flash of energy fired from his finger. It slammed into the dome above. Rain and glass came pouring down towards them. Cid rushed in with his spear/umbrella.

"Mary Poppins to the $#^$&#* rescue!" Cid shouted. Yuffie and Hojo came scrambling towards them. Yuffie was holding a red piece of materia in her hand.

"Leviathan! Rejoin us in this world! I summon you!" Yuffie cried as she lifted the materia. The materia shined a bright red. The sky seemed to cry in anger. Lightning flashed several times. Then the sky silenced.

"It worked!" Cid smiled smoking his cigarette.

"You'll still die!" Sephiroth shouted. He floated further back and aimed his hands at them. The cannon began to sound alarms.

"Umm… Guys! This thing can't hold onto that energy forever!" Cait Sith shouted.

"We have to fire it!" Hojo shouted. Yuffie jumped into the cannon seat.

"Anyone know why Sephiroth flew across the sky?" Yuffie cried.

"Why?" everyone replied.

"Because he had a Mako blast jammed up his @$$!" Yuffie smiled. She positioned the cannon at Sephiroth. She slammed down on the engage button.

"Huh? What was the answer?" Sephiroth asked. The Mako Cannon screamed as it fired a pure blast of summon energy at Sephiroth. "Ahhhhhhh!" Sephiroth screamed. He went streaming above Midgar. He smashed into the huge glass dome, which basically destroyed the remainder of it. Sephiroth flew across the sky, the blast propelling him on. He entered the Northern Crater area. He slammed straight into his glass barrier. Sephiroth had rebuilt it so he wouldn't get flooded out from the weather. Sephiroth splattered against the forcefield. He slid down it with a glass streak. The forcefield cracked in protest. Sephiroth got up and groaned.

"Noooooooooo!" Sephiroth roared. The rest of the forcefield came tumbling down.

Prologue:

The towns of the world were rebuilt.

Yuffie was put on a daily caffeine dosage and Prozac until the effects of the tranquilizer faded.

Rufus was declared legally insane until they had finally managed to return him to his normal state of mind using thousands of dollars of therapy.

And Red 013 finally made up with Bugenhagen!

Now for the list of cuts!

  1. We were supposed to have a big tidal wave cut scene, but couldn't afford it.
  2. An alternate ending was in the works where the characters lost, then we could have a Water World sequel!
  3. Cloud and Aeris were supposed to sing 'Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head!' But Tifa wrote a petition to refuse it.
  4. Cid's Rocket was going to make an appearance where it crashed into the moon. (Even I'm wondering why that was suggested.)
  5. True Fact!: This fanfic was originally going to be called "From Midgar with Love." But, that'll be for a rainy day!
  6. Leviathan was actually supposed to appear in this fanfic.
  7. Sephiroth was supposed to go on a killing spree at the end of the fanfic.
  8. Five new WEAPONs and four new Jenovas were supposed to make there appearances.
  9. Reno was supposed to attack Cloud Prod with an attack called 'Neo Turk Night Light.'
  10. It was supposed to become a full-length motion picture, but… you know, budget cuts.
